‎Tim Cobra Sub Direktorat III Kejahatan dan Kekerasan, Direktorat Reserse Kriminal Umum Polda Jawa Timur menembak mati YA (20 tahun), dedengkot begal sadis yang kerap kali beraksi di wilayah Pasuruan, Mojokerto dan Sidoarjo.

Tersangka disergap di Jalan Raya Waru, Sidoarjo arah ke Surabaya pada  ,Rabu/11/03/2015/sekira pukul 03:00WIB. 

Kabid Humas Polda Jawa Timur, Kombes Pol Awi Setiyono, menegaskan penyergapan diawali dengan membuntuti tersangka yang mengendarai sepeda motor Honda Beat beriringan dengan dua tersangka lainnya yang berboncengan motor Suzuki Satria dari kawasan Krian, Sidoarjo ke arah Surabaya.

Di Bundaran Waru arah Surabaya, petugas berusaha menghentikan motor tersangka dengan cara dipepet kanan dan kiri. Namun, tersangka mengeluarkan sebilah golok dan diarahkan untuk menyerang petugas.

“Petugas dari Tim Cobra kemudian melakukan tindakan melumpuhkan, setelah memberikan tembakan peringatan tidak dihiraukan. Akhirnya, tembakan berikutnya diarahkan ke kaki dan dada. Sedangkan dua tersangka lainnya melarikan diri,” tegas Kombes Pol Awi Setiyono dalam konferensi pers di Polda Jatim.

YA kemudian menghembuskan nafas terakhir saat berada di rumah sakit. Sementara, tersangka lainnya masih dalam pengejaran.

‎Awi menyebut, kejahatan pembegalan terakhir yang dilakukan kelompok ini menimpa seorang gadis berinisial DA (16 tahun). Termasuk pernah membawa kabur mobil korban. Kelompok ini, kata Awi, sudah sering melakukan kejahatan begal motor. Dalam aksinya, mereka kerap kali melukai korban.

Sejumlah barang bukti berhasil diamankan di antaranya, sepeda motor Honda Beat warna hijau putih bernomor polisi N-3599-TAE, senjata tajam jenis penghabisan sepanjang 50 centimeter, serta sebuah tas berisi dua buah bom rakitan.
